Placebos, as we all know, can effectively make people more healthy. Another way in which placebos create health is through their use by EBM and related scientific methodologies.

EBM (and related) use placebos, often in violation of ethical guidelines set by the Declaraion of Helsinki, where people could be treated for their individual biochemical pathological changes. By relying on a restrictive definition of evidence, EBM allows diseases not to be prevented, so that « hard » (and costly)  evidence can be produced for much more studied, for-profit, medications.

Thus, EBM and the like, through the use of placebos, invent health where there is disease in progress in order to later reap the benefits from this systematic negligence.
